Route: Budachów – Łasiczyn, “Old Forest” (Stary Las) nature monument – loop along forest paths and oak avenues – Budachów.
Type of route: Scenic and nature trail.
Difficulty: Easy.
Highlights: The trail runs through the “Lasy Dobrosułowskie” Natura 2000 forests and through the village of Budachów. Along the way there are many attractions: old oaks, gardens and the historic oval village green (owalnica) of Budachów.
The trail starts in the centre of the village, at the main crossroads in Budachów, next to the bus stop and two mighty lime trees protected as natural monuments. It passes the church, the ponds, the ruins of the manor house and farm, the historic manor park and the railway station, then crosses the railway line to Łasiczyn and the “Old Forest” nature monument. There it forks: right onto the large loop and left onto the small loop.
The large loop begins with a triple oak avenue and then passes a forest picnic spot. For a short stretch it follows the road known as “For husband and wife”, then turns left onto the road “To the blind crossing”.
The small loop leads through a forest called “Wildgarten” (wild garden) on old German maps, until it meets the large loop on the road “To the blind crossing”.
After the two loops join, the trail runs through forests past charming meadows back to Budachów. It passes the railway station and the cemetery and goes under the first railway viaduct. It then follows a historic oak avenue and passes under two more railway viaducts.
It passes “Anielskie Ogrody” (Angel Gardens), the St Francis ecological community garden and the so-called “Pierogi Square”. The trail ends at the crossroads where it began.
